Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been won on hard surfaces
A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult season, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in specific - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually separating with former trainer Cervara.
Now training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought three-set win over challenger Moutet.
It is Medvedev's maiden championship since the Rome competition and first on a hard court since spring of the previous year.
Victory also means Medvedev has achieved 21 victories at 21 different events.
"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my two daughters together, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six finals, comprising in Halle previously this season.
His defensive play style and regular emotional displays on court had prompted commentators to question if his ability to perform at the highest level was concluded.
However the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform assertively, backed up by an improved serving game.
He came back from a deficit in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, winning four of the last five points to take the lead.
The competitors traded breaks in the second set before the challenger, striving for his initial professional title, seized the initiative to push for a decider.
Moutet defended 4 early opportunities in a competitive third set before the champion secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.
Appropriately, Medvedev clinched the win with a point at the net area, with Moutet unable to control a volley after a lengthy match.
